I recently had suffered a shoulder injury from a fall at home. I was having severe shoulder pain and was unable to move my arm. My physician wanted to send me to physical therapy. She estimated that it would take from two to three sessions per week for several months to rehab my shoulder. I was upset to hear this since I could not move my arm to perform even simple daily tasks. I had never received acupuncture treatments before and so I decided to try it to see if I could get pain relief and range of motion back more quickly than was suggested by my physician. The treatment was painless and very comfortable and took approximately 1 hour for the visit. The next day after treatment I had immediate relief and was able to move my arm with minimal discomfort. After three sessions I had full movement in my shoulder and was performing most of my daily tasks again. I would definitely use acupuncture treatment again and would suggest acupuncture to others with shoulder injuries as well.

I have suffered from Rheumatoid Arthritis since childhood with severe pain located mostly in my knee joints. I have taken anti-inflammatory and pain medications to control the pain over many years of knee discomfort but have always felt uncomfortable taking high doses of these medications over extended periods of time so I have tried to limit the amounts of medications and just deal with the pain until it became severe. A friend of mine suggested that I might try acupuncture to see if it could provide me with relief from the pain and swelling. I was pretty skeptical since I knew nothing about acupuncture except that I hated needles but after some convincing I decided to give it a try. During my first visit I was pretty nervous about the use of needles (since as a child I was given needles to drain fluid from my knees and it was extremely painful). The acupuncturist placed needles in the areas around my knees and added an electrical current and heat lamp as well. I thought the pain was going to be severe from the needles and I was surprised that I only felt a couple of them being inserted and had no pain while they were in. Instead, I felt a warm and heavy sensation in my knees and legs and was very relaxed. When I got home I noticed that the pain in my knees had decreased. The next day my knees felt heavy and achy but not severe and painful like they did before the treatment. After my second treatment the pain was barely noticeable and I was no longer taking any medications to control the pain and swelling. After 3 more treatments my knees felt really good and I have been able to work out and ride a bicycle.

I received acupuncture for low back and knee pain recently and it decreased my pain significantly. I was very pleased with the results of the treatments I received and surprised at how relaxed I felt after each treatment was finished. I would recommend acupuncture to anyone with acute or chronic pain. I was very happy to have decreased the use of pain and anti-inflammatory medications through acupuncture treatment.

Training in the Western educational system may lead one to look askance upon Eastern healing methods, whether acupuncture, herbal healing, or others. Being told about invisible flows of energy being manipulated by needles in my body smelled of “snake oil.” However, as a forty year addict to tobacco, wanting to stop smoking, I was willing to suspend my skepticism and give it a try.

I have not had a cigarette since Lew LoQuasto gave me my first treatment. There were a total of four treatments. What really convinced me was when Lew said that he was going to treat my 'addiction points', and the next day I only drank two cups of coffee. Prior to the treatment I drank five or six pots of coffee daily. There was no headache from caffeine withdrawal.

Acupuncture works, and Lew is good at it.

I was out of work due to a back injury that caused me to be in terrible pain. Before I started acupuncture I was on prescription pain medication and antinflammatories to control the pain. At the advice of a friend I decided to try acupuncture to see if it would help manage the pain and allow me to get back to work at my job. I had never had acupuncture before and was amazed when after my first treatment I went home and lay down to rest. I ended up falling asleep for about 2 hours and when I woke up I got right out of bed without thinking and started walking across the floor before I realized that I was almost completely out of pain just a few hours after my first treatment. I never believed in acupuncture before and as I am a bit afraid of needles I was very cautious about the idea of acupuncture. I was able to return to work after the first treatment and after 4 more treatments my back injury condition completely resolved and I was able to do all of my daily activities again. I would recommend accupuncture to anyone with back pain. It worked for me!

La Dolce Vita! After just three acupuncture sessions, I have had so many positive results. My stress level has diminished greatly which in turn has helped to decrease my psoriasis. I am now walking again pain free and without a limp. This is the first time in four years that the severe bursitis in my hip and thigh is under control. I am a totally different person. Gone are the deep, dark circles under my eyes. My curled toes are extended and flat. I can actually stand on my toes again while reaching for objects overhead. The swelling and fluid is gone from my knee. Life is good!
